True North Brass plays Owen Sound on April 25th
Horns Aplenty Brass Festival
Whether you’re within driving distance, flying distance, or yes, even paddling distance of Owen Sound, we’re looking forward to seeing you in April. TNB will be playing a concert entitled “Strong And Free”, and we’ve got a special place in our hearts for Owen Sound, so it’s always good to play on home turf.
As many may know, TNB lost founding member and horn virtuoso Joan Watson in mid-March. TNB’s program on April 25th will include a tribute to our dear friend and colleague.
We love this great festival, and encourage you to support it!
And selfishly, don’t miss us playing Georgian Shores United Church in Owen Sound on April 25th.
April 25th @ 7:30pm
“Strong And Free” – an evening with True North Brass
$30 for Adults, $10 for students
For more information, please check out the Sweetwater Music Festival website.
Here is a video featuring True North Brass with the Pax Christie Chorale
TNB had two very successful concerts with the Pax Christi Chorale over the past weekend. Members were Barton Woomert, Stuart Laughton, Alastair Kay, Joan Watson and Scott Irvine. We played two pieces of our own: Morning Song by Scott and Land of Spirits by Miklos Massey. After one concert a woman came to us in tears and said Morning Song was the most beautiful piece that she cried through the entire performance.
The 2014 Horn Day takes place March 30th at Humber college, with a concert from 4:30PM to 6:00PM. True North Brass’ Joan Watson will be the tribute recipient for 2014.
